Making a purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order. If you have made a mistake in your order and cannot correct it in the shopping cart, contact us and we will correct the mistake.

Order acceptance

After placing an order, the customer will receive an electronic acknowledgement confirming that the order has been received. This does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted. A contract is formed when Safe Secure Signs confirms acceptance of the order or begins producing or dispatching the goods.

We reserve the right to reject or cancel an order where a product is unavailable, a price or product description is clearly incorrect, the submitted custom content is unlawful or offensive, or we are unable to fulfil the order. Where payment has already been taken, the affected amount will be refunded.

Once an order has been received it is sent through our systems promptly to ensure your order is picked, packaged and dispatched in as little time as possible. This does mean that amending orders can sometimes be difficult once your order has been placed. We endeavour to accommodate our customers’ needs, but we cannot guarantee that an order can be amended once it has been placed.

Prices and VAT

All prices displayed on the public Safe Secure Signs website include VAT at the applicable rate unless expressly stated otherwise. Where an excluding-VAT price is also shown for trade customers, the VAT-inclusive price will remain clearly available. Delivery charges, where applicable, are shown separately before the order is confirmed.

Unless stated to be fixed for a stated period, SDP Media Ltd reserves the right to change prices at any time without prior notice.

Payment

Payments are processed securely through the payment methods displayed at checkout. Safe Secure Signs does not directly store customers’ complete payment-card details.

Product images and colours

We make reasonable efforts to display product colours, proportions and finishes accurately. Colours may appear differently depending on the customer’s screen, and product images may not always represent the exact selected size or material.

Material samples can be requested where colour or finish is critical. Custom products will be manufactured according to the approved artwork and selected specification.

Overseas orders

SDP Media Ltd reserves the right to treat orders from customers outside of the UK on an individual basis.

Production and delivery

Standard signs are normally dispatched within 1–2 working days. Personalised and custom-made signs are produced after the customer has approved the artwork and may require additional production time. Bespoke, bulk and contract orders may be subject to separately agreed lead times.

Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by courier delays, bank holidays, remote delivery locations or circumstances outside our reasonable control. Current delivery charges and available services will be shown before checkout. Full delivery information is on our Carriage page.

Back orders

If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you.

Custom and personalised signs

Customers are responsible for checking all wording, spelling, dimensions, colours and other information contained in an artwork proof before approving it.

Production will not begin until the artwork has been approved where a proof is required. Once a custom product has entered production, it may not be possible to amend or cancel the order.

Custom-made and personalised products cannot normally be returned because the customer has changed their mind. This does not affect the customer’s rights where goods are faulty, damaged, misdescribed or do not match an approved proof.

Customer-supplied artwork

Accepted artwork formats and maximum upload sizes are displayed on the relevant product page. Customers confirm that they own, or have permission to use, any artwork, photographs, logos, trademarks or other content supplied to Safe Secure Signs.

The customer is responsible for claims arising from material supplied without the necessary ownership or permission. Safe Secure Signs may reject content that appears unlawful, offensive, discriminatory or likely to infringe another party’s rights.

Artwork quality

We will carry out a basic artwork suitability check before printing custom products. This does not include responsibility for spelling, factual content or design choices approved by the customer.

Where supplied artwork is unsuitable for production, we may request a replacement file or offer a separately priced artwork-redrawing service. No additional design charge will be incurred without the customer’s agreement.

Cancellations and returns

Standard, non-personalised products may be returned under our published Returns Policy. Consumers may also have statutory cancellation rights when purchasing online.

Custom-made and personalised goods are normally excluded from change-of-mind cancellation and return rights once production has begun. This exclusion does not apply where the goods are faulty, damaged, misdescribed or do not match the approved specification.

Customers should contact sales@safesecuresigns.co.uk or call 01254 59504 before returning goods.

Damaged or faulty products

Customers should inspect their delivery and notify us as soon as reasonably possible if an item arrives damaged, faulty, incomplete or incorrect. Photographs of the goods and packaging may be requested to help us investigate the issue.

Where goods are confirmed as faulty, damaged, misdescribed or incorrect, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with the customer’s statutory rights. This may include repair, replacement, price reduction or refund, depending on the circumstances.

Guarantees

Any advertised material or outdoor-life guarantee is subject to the product being suitable for its intended location and being correctly installed and maintained.

Guarantees do not cover normal wear, accidental damage, vandalism, incorrect installation, chemical exposure, modification, unsuitable cleaning products or use outside the stated product specification. Full guarantee details are provided on our Service Guarantees page.

Nothing in these Terms affects a customer’s statutory rights.

Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • breach of any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited; or
  • defective products to the extent that liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

Consumers

If you are purchasing wholly or mainly for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession, you are a consumer.

We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. A loss is foreseeable if it was an obvious consequence of our breach or if both you and we knew that it might occur when the contract was formed.

We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, losses caused by information or artwork supplied or approved by you, or losses resulting from the incorrect installation, alteration, misuse or unsuitable positioning of a product after delivery.

We supply products to consumers for private use. If you use a product for a commercial or business purpose, the limitations applying to business customers below will apply to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Business customers

If you purchase products wholly or mainly for use in connection with your trade, business, craft or profession, you are a business customer.

Subject to the liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded:

  • we will not be liable for any loss of profit, revenue, business, anticipated savings, goodwill, contracts, business opportunity, reputation or data;
  • we will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss;
  • we will not be responsible for losses arising from inaccurate wording, measurements, specifications, instructions, logos or artwork supplied or approved by you;
  • we will not be responsible for losses resulting from incorrect installation, unsuitable positioning, modification, misuse, vandalism, abnormal environmental exposure or failure to maintain a product; and
  • our total liability arising from or in connection with an order will not exceed the total amount paid or payable by you for the products under that order.

The above liability cap does not apply to any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Use of signs

Our products are supplied according to the wording, design, size, material and other specifications selected or approved by the customer.

Unless we expressly confirm otherwise in writing, purchasing a sign from us does not constitute legal, regulatory, planning, traffic-management, parking-enforcement or health-and-safety advice.

Customers are responsible for:

  • determining which signs are required following an appropriate site assessment or risk assessment;
  • checking that the selected signs are suitable for their intended location and purpose;
  • obtaining any necessary permission or professional advice;
  • ensuring signs are correctly positioned, installed, inspected and maintained; and
  • complying with any legislation, regulation, code of practice or site-specific requirement applying to their premises.

We remain responsible for supplying products that match the agreed description and specification. Nothing in this section excludes or limits any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Force majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms and Conditions where such failure or delay results from events beyond our reasonable control (a “Force Majeure Event”).

A Force Majeure Event includes, but is not limited to: acts of God, natural disasters (such as floods, earthquakes, or storms), fire, pandemics, epidemics, war, civil unrest, terrorist attacks, strikes or labour disputes, interruption or failure of utilities or transport networks, governmental actions, or any other circumstances beyond our reasonable control which create substantial trading or market volatility.

If a Force Majeure Event occurs that creates significant volatility or affects the performance of our obligations:

  • We will notify you as soon as reasonably possible; and
  • Our obligations will be suspended for the duration of the Force Majeure Event.

We will do our best to minimise the impact of the Force Majeure Event on our customers. However, if the event continues for an extended period, we reserve the right to amend, cancel or terminate affected orders or services. We appreciate your understanding in these situations.

Errors and omissions excepted.
