Equality Act 2010
Under the Equality Act 2010, businesses in the UK are required to make reasonable adjustments to avoid situations where a disabled person would be at a substantial disadvantage compared to non-disabled people. This obligation extends to the provision and identification of car parking spaces.
The act doesn't specify the exact signage to be used for disabled parking spaces. However, the universally recognised symbol of access, a white stylised image of an individual in a wheelchair on a blue background, is commonly used, and we have adopted this best practice in our range of disabled parking signs.
